Rehearsal Schedule December 8-12
This is our last week of rehearsals for 2014! The Christmas Concert will be held on Wednesday, December 10. Grades K-2 will perform at 1:00PM and Grades 3-6 will perform at 6:00PM. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the start of each concert. Guests attending the concert should use the rear gym entrance. Students (grades 3-6) entering the school for the 6PM concert should use the main entrance near the office.
Students have been working very hard, and will definitely shine on stage this Wednesday!

CONGRATULATIONS SHOW BAND
Parkside's show band performed "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" and "Down on the Corner" in the SIS school day concert yesterday. The band represented Parkside very well and put on an excellent performance! Way to go!

The Christmas Concert page has been updated! I have added song lyrics for all classes, as well as links to recordings for at-home practice. Any missing recordings (i.e. kindergarten songs) will be added over the weekend.
Show Band Concert @ SIS
Students in grades 4-6 will be attending the SIS feeder school Show Band concert on Thursday morning, November 13. There is no admission for this concert, but the SIS band students are doing a food drive for the Summerside Food Band. If possible, please have your child bring in a non-perishable food item on Thursday.

Rehearsal Schedule October 20-24
Rehearsals are off to a great start!
The Elementary Choir is preparing a piece of music for our Remembrance Assembly in November and they are sounding fabulous!
The Show Band had it's first full-group rehearsal today - WOW! I can tell you have been working hard at home.
Primary Choir will "officially" begin on Monday. Students choosing to come to choir now must commit to practices until after the Christmas concert.
Vocal Group - I'm sorry we missed your practice this week. Can't wait to hear you next week. Come with suggestions for a new song to learn!

Miss Gallant has been out sick the last two days, so there has been a slight change to the rehearsal schedule. On Tuesday, Show Band students had the opportunity to use their noon recess time for individual practice, but did not have a full band rehearsal. On Wednesday, Vocal Group was canceled.

Rehearsal Schedule Sept. 29-October 3
Last week the music room was a flurry of activity as Miss Gallant, Ms. Schurman, and Mme Duncan saw many talented students audition for Show Band. Thank you to each and every student that prepared an audition - Parkside sure has a lot of talent! It was a very tough decision, but the Show Band list has been made and will be posted on Monday outside of the music room.
As an additional note - Show Band can only take 6 singers. Because of the overwhelming number of singers that auditioned, Miss Gallant has decided to form an additional small vocal group that will also prepare and perform music similar to that of Show Band. A list of students who are invited to join this group will be posted on Monday outside the music room as well.
Miss Gallant would also like to remind all students that Elementary choir is open to all students in grades 3-6 that love to sing!
