Over the last few weeks, grade 4 students have been exploring the concept of a soundscape. A soundscape is a sound or combination of sounds that create the sensation of a particular environment. After reading Lynn Cherry's book, "The Great Kapok Tree," the students used instruments, voices, and various objects around the classroom to create a soundscape that they felt represented the sounds of the Amazon Rainforest.
